Our Story
Kemper House Worthington, LLC was founded in 2018 by principal members Greg Cini and Don Kenney, Jr., both lifelong residents of this area with well-regarded track records in real estate design, construction, and operation. Don has an established reputation for quality construction and development of the residential and commercial real estate. Greg spent decades developing and operating his wife's design company specializing in senior living and residential care communities. More personally, Greg has first-hand experience of what it is like to care for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease while helping to care for their beloved Grandma Lilly in their home and now his own mother that passed in April 2022 from Alzheimer’s complications. Greg developed an interest and knowledge in how cutting-edge technology could help improve the quality of care in senior living.
His experience with senior living and residential care introduced Greg to the Kemper House facilities of Northeast Ohio, owned and operated by the Kemper family, one of the few residential care programs designed specifically for individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Greg and his family knew the challenges of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's. They knew that Kemper House was the facility that he and his family would have felt comfortable with if they had needed residential care for their grandmother, but that didn't exist in the Columbus area. A unique partnership combines the Kemper House dedication to excellence in Alzheimer's and dementia care with Greg and Don's design, construction, operation, and technology.
Telehealth platform including 24/7 video conferencing with doctors.
Have you ever felt a cold coming on and taken steps to try and keep it from getting worse? With our residents, the signs of health stressors can be so slight that it is important to be proactive and address them early. This is why Kemper House Worthington provides a Telehealth platform, including 24/7 video conferencing with doctors from around the nation to offer the best care possible.
The system is twofold. First, to help our Kemper House Worthington team provide optimal care, we use non-invasive, wireless medical devices to get an extensive health screen and baseline for each resident that is scored and monitored as part of our healthy living program. A Telecart assists our care team in bringing the latest in health and wellness scanning and monitoring conveniently to our residents anywhere in the building. We monitor incremental changes, allowing us to be proactive when any deviations may show. Monthly, weekly, or even daily bio-screening is possible and prescribed appropriately by our care team. Wireless Bluetooth medical devices provide a real-time health snapshot of each resident representing essential health parameters that help our care team proactively keep our residents in normal vital ranges before external symptoms are noticeable. This helps us avoid preventable hospital and emergency room visits. Second, we use 24/7 video access to physicians to provide immediate care to each resident without the hassle and challenges of travel. Keeping our residents healthy, comfortable, and in our home is the main goal of this platform.
